Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Winter 1987: Two unrelated & unprecedented tides converge — an incoming wave of Russian Jews & the surge of the AIDS epidemic. David, a 17 year old immigrant, wrestles with his brittle identity, his sexuality, & his faith — all irreconcilable until he befriends two elderly closeted gay men in his grandfather’s B’nai Brith housing complex: one a Holocaust survivor & the other an Odessa criminal dying of lung cancer.
