Murder, She Wrote

Murder, She Wrote is moving forward as a theatrical feature at Universal Pictures, with Jamie Lee Curtis taking on the iconic role of Jessica Fletcher, originally played by Angela Lansbury in the Emmy-winning CBS series that ran for 12 seasons. Jason Moore directs from a screenplay by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, with Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller producing through Lord Miller's first-look deal with Universal. The film adapts the classic series about a retired schoolteacher turned mystery writer with an uncanny knack for solving murders in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine. Originally scheduled for a December 22, 2027 release, the film has been pushed to February 4, 2028, giving it distance from a crowded holiday slate. Plot details remain under wraps as the project continues in pre-production.
