Gabriella arrives in the US from Mexico in search of the American Dream. But as a cash-strapped illegal immigrant starting a new life is perilously difficult. She finally finds a room she can afford in a run-down house in a near-derelict neighborhood of St Louis, Missouri. But 1408 Recolte Avenue is not what it appears to be. In a house where no one listens to the screams, will she ever get out alive?
