Project Summary

Red Rocks is director Bruno Dumont's latest feature, which premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight section. Shot on the French Riviera with very young children, the film centers on Géo, a seven-year-old leading his gang through summer raids and cliff-jumping challenges. When a rival group from the capital arrives and Géo meets the mysterious Eve, innocence and cruelty merge in what Dumont frames as a Romeo and Juliet-style story. The production is led by Tessalit Productions alongside Italy's Nightswim, Portugal's Rosa Filmes, Belgium's Novak Prod, and Spain's Andergraun Films and Pulpa Film, with Luxbox handling international sales. Dumont described the film as adopting a documentary-like approach with deliberate use of wide-angle lenses. Following the Cannes screening, Dumont also gave a masterclass tracing thirty years of his filmmaking career.
