Project Summary
When Texas church lady, Maybelline’s (Jacki Weaver), estranged son dies & leaves her his NYC drag club, she travels to New York for his funeral intent on selling the club. In New York she meets the constellation of people he left behind (his boyfriend, Nathan (Taye Diggs), his sassy best friend, Sienna, & all his drag queen co-stars & friends) & she has a change of heart. Suddenly this fish out of water has a life filled with new people & purpose all connected to the son she misses so dearly.
