Star One reunites director Doug Liman with the espionage genre he pioneered with The Bourne Identity. Miles Teller and Eddie Redmayne are in talks to star as the wildly different CIA operatives forced to collaborate on a high-stakes covert mission. The project, written by David Coggeshall, is based on the untold true story of the first intelligence star ever awarded for one of the most important yet least-known missions in modern history. P. J. van Sandwijk produces for Storyteller Productions alongside Project X Entertainment's William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein. Black Bear and CAA Media Finance are launching the package at the Cannes market, with CAA representing domestic sales and Black Bear handling international. Liman recently wrapped production on his AI thriller Bitcoin and is expected to move into Star One next. The spy thriller marks a return to the mismatched-partners formula that has driven much of Liman's action work, blending high-tension set pieces with character-driven conflict.
