The Divorce

The Divorce is a feature adaptation of bestselling author Freida McFadden's forthcoming thriller novel, currently in early development at Studiocanal. Following a competitive auction, Studiocanal secured the rights and will fully finance the project, co-producing with Working Title. Ron Halpern and Joe Naftalin oversee development and production for Studiocanal. The project reunites McFadden with Studiocanal after their international release of The Housemaid, which grossed over $400 million worldwide. The Divorce centers on Naomi, whose seemingly perfect marriage implodes when her husband kicks her out and begins a relationship with a woman in her twenties. Rather than moving on, Naomi fixates on the new girlfriend and uncovers secrets that put her own life in danger. The novel publishes May 26, 2026 via Poisoned Pen Press. No director, writer, or cast have been announced yet.
