The Generals

The Generals is a Korean political drama feature that has begun production for Netflix. Director Yoon Jong-bin returns to features for the first time since The Spy Gone North in 2018, reuniting with the streamer after the success of Narco-Saints. Son Suk-ku leads as Roh Tae-woo, the military officer who served as second-in-command to dictator Chun Doo-hwan, played by Ha Jung-woo. The supporting cast includes Ji Chang-wook as Heo Hak-seong, a junior officer; Hyun Bong-sik as Jung Ho-joong, a classmate to both Roh and Chun; and Seo Hyun-woo as Park Cheol-woong, a prosecutor in Roh's inner circle. The film explores the web of alliances and rivalries that defined Roh's strategic ascent during South Korea's authoritarian era. Moonlight Film and Sanai Pictures are producing. The film will stream exclusively on Netflix.
