In a small town, Shelley, a country cop, looks into the murder of a reclusive hoarder. As she investigates, she uncovers additional bodies, all linked to a hate crime that she and her cousin Jennifer experienced when they were younger. With her boss, Chubbick, being demanding and hostile, Shelley faces challenges. Her only ally is her new partner, Detective Simon Yang. Throughout the investigation, Shelley grapples with her own mental health issues, including PTSD, ultimately leading her to uncover a shocking truth about the case.
