The Night Burns

The Night Burns marks the feature directorial debut of Angelica Gallo, wrapping principal photography in Rome on May 11, 2026. The film stars emerging actors Giovanni De Maria and Raika Hazanavicius alongside Abel Ferrara, Carolina Crescentini, Chiara Caselli, and Aniello Arena. The project is produced by Guendalina Folador through Askesis Film, in partnership with Masi Film and RAI Cinema, with associated production by Lumen Films. Gallo co-wrote the screenplay with Nicolò Galbiati, expanding her 2021 short film of the same name that premiered at the Torino Film Festival. The narrative follows Massimo and his circle of twenty-something friends who organize robberies at nightclubs and trap concerts, until a chaotic incident leads to injuries and forces Massimo to reckon with the harm they've caused. The project was developed through the Locarno Residency and Berlin AiR programs with support from Torino Film Lab.
