Project Summary
The narrative is set in the Montana wilderness and follows Val Millimaki (Teague), a low man in the Copper County Sheriff’s Department. The sheriff (Murray) has tasked him with interrogating the recently captured notorious old murderer, Gload (Nolte). With a continuous discovery of dead bodies on his conscience, Val must try to get Gload to reveal his past. However, he finds much in common with the criminal and starts seeking counsel from him, which results in an unlikely friendship between the two men, one working for the law and the other unaffected by it.
