The Possessed

The Possessed marks writer-director Ena Sendijarević's third feature and English-language debut, now in pre-production with French actress Ariane Labed attached to star. The dark, surrealist drama explores the European witch hunts through a contemporary lens, examining how societal power struggles infiltrate intimate relationships. The film is produced by Layla Meijman and Maarten van der Ven through Amsterdam-based Studio Ruba, in co-production with Sendijarević's Eklips, Distinto Film, and VPRO. Amra Bakšić Čamo serves as associate producer. Financing is in place from the Netherlands Film Fund, Creative Europe MEDIA, and other European funds. The production is set to shoot in Spain at the start of 2026, with international casting currently underway to round out the ensemble alongside Labed.
