David Zabel has sold a gritty cop drama to Netflix under his new overall deal with AMC Studios. Scott Free Productions, the banner led by Ridley Scott, is attached to produce the series. The project is currently in early development at the streamer. Zabel, who most recently served as showrunner on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon across all four seasons, brings a background that includes running NBC's ER for five seasons and creating the ABC police drama Detroit 1-8-7. No cast, production dates, or additional creative team have been announced. The series marks Zabel's expansion into streaming following his work in broadcast and cable television.
