CBS Studios and showrunner Matt Lopez are actively developing a third series in the Fire Country universe, this time centered on a medical team in Edgewater, California. Lopez, who currently runs Sheriff Country, is writing and executive producing the project alongside franchise co-creators Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, and Tony Phelan, with Jerry Bruckheimer Television's Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed also producing. The project remains in early development, with creators currently fleshing out storylines and characters. The plan includes introducing a character from the medical series during Sheriff Country's second season as a backdoor pilot, mirroring how Sheriff Country itself launched from Fire Country. The series aims to explore how medical professionals in a small Northern California town handle emergencies differently than traditional big-city hospital dramas, with built-in crossover potential with both Fire Country and Sheriff Country. The project targets the 2026-27 broadcast season, though no official greenlight or production timeline has been announced.
