Untitled McG-Kevin Hart Spy Comedy
Project Summary
McG is directing Kevin Hart in an untitled spy action comedy for Netflix, marking the director's return to the action-comedy genre that launched his career with Charlie's Angels. The high-concept feature follows two rival operatives whose secret lives collide when their wives become friends and they end up in the same Lamaze class together. The screenplay is written by Adam and Aaron Nee, who penned The Lost City, alongside Jonathan Tropper, based on a short story by Sean Lewis. The project brings together heavyweight producers including Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Emily Morris for 21 Laps (Stranger Things), as well as Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort. Hart is also producing through his Hartbeat banner with Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley. Production is targeting a late 2026 start, with the film set to shoot in New Jersey. McG is currently in post-production on Warrior Kid for Apple, while this marks his sixth collaboration with Netflix.
