Winter Lions

Winter Lions (Leones en invierno) is a Spanish thriller now in post-production, directed by Albert Pintó, whose credits include Netflix's Money Heist, Berlin, and Nowhere. The film is produced by Álvaro Ariza at Esto También Pasará and María Luisa Gutiérrez at Bowfinger International Pictures, with Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia handling Spanish distribution and Film Factory managing world sales at Cannes. Written by Juma Fodde, the story follows a father whose daughter's death propels him into a violent quest for truth, entangling him with power and organized crime. Luis Zahera leads the cast. Shot over seven weeks across Madrid and the Canary Islands, the film reunites Pintó and Ariza after their collaboration on Barren Land. Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia will release the film theatrically in Spain.
