Fantefilm Fiksjon AS is one of Norway's leading and longest-running production companies, founded in 1997 in Oslo. The company is internationally acclaimed for pioneering the 'Scandisaster' genre with high-concept genre blockbusters such as Cold Prey (2006), The Wave (2015), The Quake (2018), The Burning Sea (2021), and the Netflix global hit La Palma (2024), which amassed over 70 million views and ranked as the 8th most-watched non-English TV title on Netflix of all time. Minority-owned by Scandinavian major Nordisk Film since 2020, Fantefilm has expanded from feature films into scripted TV series, with its sequel series Florida (a La Palma follow-up for Netflix) in active development for a 2027 release.
