Le Spectre

Spectre Productions is a French independent production company founded in 2013 by Olivier Marboeuf and based in Rennes, Brittany, dedicated to innovative cinematographic writing and experimental audiovisual projects. Its catalogue of approximately fifty titles spans creative documentaries, feature and short fiction films, essays, and artist films, with a strong focus on postcolonial heritage and French diversity — especially perspectives from France's overseas territories. Films from the company have screened at Cannes, the Berlinale, Rotterdam, the New York Film Festival, and BFI London, and have been acquired by Arte, MUBI, and Tënk, and exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, MoMA New York, and the Tate London. The company entered judicial liquidation proceedings on 5 June 2024.
