About
MTVA (Médiaszolgáltatás-támogató és Vagyonkezelő Alap, or Media Services and Support Trust Fund) is Hungary's state-owned public broadcasting and media asset management fund, established on 1 January 2011 under the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH). It is responsible for financing, producing, and operating the content of Duna Média — Hungary's unified public media company — spanning eight television channels (M1, M2, M4 Sport, M5, Duna, Duna World, and others), seven radio channels (Kossuth, Petőfi, Bartók, Dankó, and others), the national news agency MTI, and multiple online platforms. With over 2,000 employees, MTVA is the largest media enterprise in Hungary, broadcasting approximately 60,000+ hours of television and 61,000+ hours of radio programming annually to audiences in Hungary, Europe, North America, and Australia. It is an active member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
