Founded in October 2023 at Rome's MIA Market, the alliance co-produces approximately eight premium scripted drama series per year, with each series distributed across all member territories covering a potential market of 142 million viewers. The partnership was renewed for a second three-year term in January 2026, having already greenlit 24 original series in its first cycle. New8 targets the 18–45 demographic and focuses on high-quality, socially resonant stories with European public-service values.
