RTÉ (Raidió Teilifís Éireann – Irish for 'Radio and Television of Ireland') is Ireland's national public service broadcaster and one of the oldest continuously operating public broadcasters in the world, with radio service dating to 1926 and television to 1961. A statutory corporation overseen by a government-appointed board and regulated by Coimisiún na Meán, RTÉ commissions, produces, and broadcasts a wide range of programming across television (RTÉ One, RTÉ2, RTÉ News Channel, RTÉjr), radio (RTÉ Radio 1, RTÉ 2fm, RTÉ Lyric FM, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta), and digital/online platforms including RTÉ Player. It is dual-funded by a television licence fee and commercial advertising revenue, with additional Exchequer support introduced from 2025.
