SVT

Sveriges Television AB (SVT) is Sweden's national public service television broadcaster, founded in 1956 and funded by a public service tax on personal income. Operating four channels — SVT1, SVT2, SVT24/SVT Barn, and Kunskapskanalen (with UR) — plus the streaming service SVT Play, SVT is the biggest TV network in Sweden with an audience share of approximately 36.4%. Modelled after the BBC, SVT is editorially independent of political and commercial interests, produces original drama, news, entertainment, and documentary content, and has hosted the Eurovision Song Contest multiple times. SVT co-produces approximately 10–15 Swedish feature films annually and actively acquires international programming.
