Ally

Ally marks Bong Joon Ho's first animated feature, a 3D family adventure currently in production with completion targeted for the first half of 2027. The Oscar-winning director co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Yu and is working with producer Seo Woo-sik, marking their third collaboration after Mother and Okja. The international production brings together creative talent from twelve countries, including animation supervisor Jae Hyung Kim from Toy Story 4 and Inside Out, supervising producer David Lipman from the Shrek franchise, and production designer Marcin Jakubowski from Klaus. DNEG is contributing high-end 3D animation work. CJ ENM, Penture Invest, and Pathé are handling financing and distribution, with Barunson C&C overseeing production. Neon has acquired North American rights and will release the film theatrically in late 2027, reuniting with Bong after their Oscar-winning collaboration on Parasite.
