Roy Lee is a Korean-American film and television producer and co-founder of Vertigo Entertainment, which he launched in 2001 with partner Doug Davison and which currently holds a first-look deal with Lionsgate. He is best known for producing blockbuster horror franchises (The Ring, The Grudge, It) and animated hits (The Lego Movie, How to Train Your Dragon), as well as executive producing the Oscar-winning The Departed (2006). In 2020, he co-founded Spooky Pictures with Steven Schneider, a genre label focused on high-concept, low-budget horror films, and in 2025 produced or executive produced 11 released films including A Minecraft Movie.
